Connect South Africa presents Guest House accommodation in Stellenbosch
Auberge Rozendal
The Guest House
This is a beautiful guest house property situated on a working farm and wine estate in the heart of the Western Cape wine country. Located only 40 minutes outside Cape Town, and even closer to the airport and ocean, each of the 16 modern, en-suite, guest house rooms are 30 sq m/330 sq ft, with an additional terrace. Our guest house rooms are situated between the majestic Stellenbosch and Simonsberg mountains, with vineyard, mountain and valley views, providing an environment of beauty and tranquillity. We also offer 2 rooms specially designed with families in mind. Come, relax at our pool, or enjoy a leisurely hike in the adjacent forests and mountains.
The Restaurant is located in the 150 year old manor house, where meals may be enjoyed on the terrace on warm summer mornings and evenings, or in the dining room where a fireplace keeps all cozy and warm on those cool mornings or evenings. Our menu is a set one, created daily using seasonal ingredients, such as our home grown vegetables, fruits and herbs, as well as fresh local products purchased daily. All meals are preceded by a glass of Rozendal's own health inspiring vinegar and are prepared with French country flair. The restaurant is open to the public 7 days a week, serving Lunch from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm and seating for Dinner from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The Restaurant is closed June - August. Please note that advance booking of Lunch and Dinner reservations are essential. The restaurant is open exclusively to our guests for breakfast throughout the year.
Rozendal Farm comprises of 6ha of vines, 4ha of pastures, 2ha of gardens and living space and 13ha of forest and fynbos. The farm is situated in the Jonkershoek valley on the border of Stellenbosch, on the foot of the Jonkershoek mountains. The farm and cellar buildings are in excess of 150 years old.
Since 1994 Rozendal is managed biologically (bio+logical = biological) with an environmental and health conscious approach which ensures clean air and pure water. In May 2001 we switched to Biodynamic farming methods and have become members of the Biodynamic Agricultural Association.
Quality in simplicity is the thread and maturing rather than ageing are the threads which link all activities on the farm.
