Tintswalo Atlantic in Noordhoek , Cape Peninsula
Tintswalo Atlantic is the only lodge within Cape Town placed on the Atlantic oceans’ water’s edge. Situated just outside of Hout Bay off Chapman’s Peak drive, within the Cape Mountain reserve. All ten suites as well as the Presidential suite face the sea and the views of the Sentinel and open ocean are breathtaking at both sun rise and sun set.
The executive chef will happily allow interaction in the open plan kitchen and encourages guest to enjoy his culinary creations beyond just breakfast.
Every suite along the shore line is decorated to emulate an island of the world and has an en-suite bathroom with a view of the ocean.
The pebbled beach directly in front of the lodge is secluded and sheltered by winds and is one of the boundaries of the Table Mountain National Park, globally known for its extraordinary rich, diverse and unique fauna and flora.
Location & Travel
Located within the Cape Mountain reserve of the famous Chapman’s Peaks drive just outside of Hout Bay Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.
Daily flights into Cape Town International Airport. Guests can then continue by road transfer to the lodge which is about a 25 minute trip or be transferred by helicopter to the lodge directly.
Climate
The Western Cape climate is similar to the typical Mediterranean climate, the summers are warm and mild and the winters on the most part rather wet and rainy. Closer to the coast the summer temperatures range from 15ºC to an average high of 27ºC, as one moves further from the coast the temperature will often be 3 to 5ºC higher. The winter lows can drop to around 7ºC and at midday can reach 18ºC.
Winter begins around May and continues through to July, spring sets in around August. Although the Tintswalo Atlantic site is quite sheltered from the winds most travellers tend towards March through to April for their preferred travel times.
